Ken lives with his wife and two children on a third generation ranch in eastern Wyoming. Together they run a cattle opreration selling calves and yearlings each fall. The photo at the top of the page shows part of the ranch. In addition to his family and engraving Kens other interests include hunting, guns and dog training.

Being interested in engraving and art since he was in high school, Ken finally had a chance in 2004 to recieve professional instruction. Thanks to a GRS class taught by Diane Scalese on the fundamentals of western bright cut Ken had the boost he needed to get started engraving. Since that time he has continued learning, studying books and videos from some of the top engravers in the country. Most recently he attended a live online class on inside ring engraving taught by Mike Dubber.
